Called to the Bar in 2016, Kameel acts in high-level public and commercial law disputes, as well as pro bono matters, in South Africa and SADC. He holds degrees from Howard College, UKZN, and Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. His political career ended at 19 when he lost a seat in Parliament by 800 votes. After politics, he worked in public policy, making him an adept media performer.
